Oothèque, le nom du projet et le nom du disque, évite la monochromie et montre plusieurs facettes d’un rock baigné dans les claviers. On sent bien sûr des liens avec Malajube, mais Mineau s’éclate dans d’autres directions, faisant parfois penser à Jérôme Minière, à Peter Peter ou à la musique britannique eighties._

The first album of Oothèque, the solo project of Malajube's drummer Francis Mineau, is available since May 2013 through Bonsound. Produced by Mineau himself, the album was recorded by Pascal Shefteshy (Peter Peter, Fanny Bloom, Rufus Wainwright, etc.). Oothèque's album is a musical equation of colored particles; a possible meeting between The Riverdales and Alain Souchon; a sentence that goes back and forth from here to there; a path from the Chernobyl years to the fluorescent bulb's years.

Oothèque is music, an aesthetic, a magic formula! It's the sum of the notes on the scale, the Peterson Field Guide to Birds of North America, Emilie Jolie, Breton-Cyr, a DX-7, fly fishing, flats, Roland Orzabal, the Carnival of the Animals, geometry, the Beatles, JP Ferland, the FYC, topless Jodie Foster, an upright piano, a calf's liver, Converge, SEGA Genesis, Madame Bovary, FZ, Malajube, mathematics, Montreal Expos, Eric Satie, a drumkit, Piu-Kee and two Volkswagens.

Biography

Born in the countryside sixteen weeks before the 80s, raised by his parents, educated by books, Génies en herbe and some teachers, Francis went camping, boomerang throwing. skiing, biking and mowed the lawn. Oothèque is the first solo project of Francis Mineau (Malajube's drummer) and is the culmination of the artistic process.
