Profile

This lecherous Liquid Love is made up of true songs (...). The Tropics are free, confident, without complex and more experimental than ever: they hit hard. Very hard!
Le Soir, November 2011

I only have thirty seconds to tell you that the new album of TETBB is absolute dynamite! In one word, once in the player, their record sticks there.

AboutThe Experimental Tropic Blues Band

Boogie Snake (guitar, vocals), Dirty Coq (guitar, vocals) and Devil d’Inferno (drums) recorded their third album in New York in March 2011. For this album, the band has called upon the services of a leading expert in rock'n'roll of the last twenty years, but above all a great musician and an outstanding producer: Jon Spencer! Time for some dirty rock’n’roll!

Contact

The Experimental Tropic Blues Band presents Liquid Love, out since February 2012 on Blow The Fuse Records, in Canada. Liquid Love, which borrowed its name from a singles nightclub on Bedford Avenue, talks about fantasies, sex, love and burgers and was recorded in New York in March 2011, at NY HED Studio, run by Matt Verta Ray (Heavy Trash).

He allowed the band to make the album they have always wanted to make: an old-style record, with analog tapes as only master!

At NY HED, there were no Pro-tools, no restarting endlessly to achieve perfection, everything was done on the spot! The spontaneity and the unexpected have given life to every track. By recording the noisy pipes of the heating system, loud and heavy sounds of guitars and urging the members to play with instruments they had never touched before, Jon Spencer swept away the clichés of the studio. He made this session a playful and rock’n’roll experience, whose evidence is the record you should hold in your hands!

Time for some dirty rock’n’roll!

Biography

With the boss of Blues Explosion on the passenger seat, The Experimental Tropic Blues Band rushes at top speed through the dirtiest streets of the City, driving on sidewalks and belching his epileptic rock. In ten years of career, the band has given its heart and soul to rock and roll all across Europe, but also in Canada and the United States (they played at SXSW in Austin and at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis). The guys had the opportunity to be next to some of their most distinguished peers, namely, in bulk: The Cramps, Bob Log III, André Williams, Jim Jones, The Black Lips, JSBX, Heavy Trash, only to mention a few!

With three albums under their belt and a ten-year career, the band has given its heart and soul to rock'n'roll all across Europe and also in Canada and the United States. Notable shows in North American include SXSW in Austin, at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis and at the FME last September. The guys had the opportunity to be next to some of their most distinguished peers: The Cramps, Bob Log III, The Black Lips, André Williams, Jim Jones, JSBX and Heavy Trash, only to mention a few! With Liquid Love, the Tropics are no longer just real stage animals, they are also a real studio band!
