New artist: Loïc April shares his DIV/SION EP

New artist: Loïc April shares his DIV/SION EP

Recently signed to Bonsound, today Loïc April releases his debut EP DIV/SION on all digital platforms. First launched independently on his Bandcamp page last January, the EP rapidly carved out a place for itself on Montreal’s alternative radio stations. DIV/SION is a strikingly well-composed work of shoegaze rock, blending dreamy pop melodies and introspective lyrics with reverb and guitar distortion. The three songs, written by Loïc, were recorded with several of his musician friends and mixed by Jean-Michel Coutu (Duchess Says, Pypy, Jesuslesfilles, I.D.A.L.G.).

Influenced as much by Slowdive and the Pixies as by Françoise Hardy, the self-taught multi-instrumentalist has a liking for unorthodox and melodious chord progressions. The result is a timeless and vivid French rock record.

Discover DIV/SION today on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.

Misc unveils a live performance of their song La fin

Pianist Jérôme Beaulieu, bass player Philippe Leduc and drummer William Côté released their self-titled album on March 18 via Bonsound. Today the band is proud to share a sample of their performance from the album launch. Listen to La fin, the album’s first track, via YouTube.

Misc is pronounced as it is written, a reference to the English word miscellaneous, or the literary genre miscellanées, or even the latin word miscellanea. Misc is a musically diverse trio who embodies a modern univers, deadpan humour, audacity and musical explorations with no boundaries. (Ralph Boncy, Voir)

The jazz ensemble is wooing an audience of all ages and of different musical tastes. Show dates will be announced soon, stay tuned!

Yann Perreau's Le fantastique des astres is out now

Yann Perreau's Le fantastique des astres is out now

Le fantastique des astres, Yann Perreau‘s fifth album, is available now online (Bandcamp / iTunes) and in stores!

An artist continuously growing in boldness and maturity, Yann Perreau is back in fine form with this fresh new album full of heartfelt and well-crafted lyrics set to lively, groovy music. Le fantastique des astres was created in the heat of the moment as both a joyful celebration of life as well as a middle finger to modern world cynicism. With his head high in the sky, both feet on the ground, the showman has created a perfect playground for himself and his listeners.

This album was produced by Tante Blanche, an enigmatic personality and sound designer who loves mixing lots of old and new material, and includes collaborations with Laurence Nerbonne, Pierre Kwenders and Yves Desrosiers.

Yann Perreau will be playing at the Impérial Bell in Québec on April 29th and will be part of the FrancoFolies de Montreal’s 2016 indoor lineup at Club Soda on June 17th.
