Bonsound Booking gets jazzy

Bonsound Booking gets jazzy

The Bonsound booking crew is happy to welcome two great jazz artists to their roster: Emma Frank and the Trio Jérôme Beaulieu!

Depending on when you walk in on a song, the Emma Frank Quartet might sound like folk or jazz, even R&B. It's music that never stays put, full of moving parts, shifting tempos, winding melodies. Lately people have compared Emma's voice and song writing to a young Joni Mitchell. Check out her debut album, For Being Apart, released independently last year via

Modern jazz with a twist, based on a cohesive group effort rather than on personal virtuosity; that's what the members of Trio Jérôme Beaulieu are going for. The group lifted off quickly, winning both Montreal's Jazz en Rafale contest and Festi-Jazz de Rimouski's Grand Prize in their first year of existence. Listen to a few songs off their latest record, Chercher l'Équilibre, via

Secret Sun signs with Bonsound!

Secret Sun signs with Bonsound!

Montreal-based Secret Sun, who creates lush and languid alternative pop songs (Brooklyn Vegan), has recently signed label and booking deals with Bonsound! Their first full-length album will be released in the fall of 2014. In the meantime, you can stream and download the song Cold Coast via the band's bandcamp. A music video will be unveiled in the next few months, so stay tuned by following them on Twitter and Facebook.

On a beautiful evening in Parc Lafontaine in 2011, Simon Landry and Anne-Marie Campbell joined forces and promised to write a series of songs for a vibrant, emotional, and luminous project named Secret Sun. Since then, they have released an EP and performed at festivals such as MEG, M for Montreal and Pop Montreal.
