One year after dropping their album Gesamtkunstwerk, Dead Obies release a new EP Air Max via Bonsound. This latest project takes an approach that is more pop and ethereal, but still very much inventive, rebellious and introspective, qualities that are admired by Quebec’s youngsters. Last October they gave a sneak peek of Air Max when they performed the song Never Sober, shot by Culturebox/Sourdoreille, in the streets of Montmartre, Paris.
Air Max is available now online.
The winners of the 2016 Espoir FEQ prize - who will be back at the Festival d’été de Québec in July - flew to Europe earlier this week for a third tour on the other side of the Atlantic. After inviting the French rapper Georgio to open for them at three sold-out shows in Montreal, Quebec City and Gatineau last December, Dead Obies will return the favor by opening for Georgio in Liège (Belgium), Hérouville-Saint-Clair (France) and Paris in a sold-out Olympia.
