Elisapie and Hologramme unveil a remix of the song Uummati Attanarsimat (Heart of Glass)

Elisapie unveils a new version of the song Uummati Attanarsimat (Heart of Glass), remixed by Hologramme. This is the first single from Inuktitut (Remixes), a new EP which will be released on September 24th via Bonsound. The single marks the second anniversary of Elisapie’s landmark album, which earned her a Juno for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, a Polaris Prize shortlist nomination (2024) and several Félix awards.

The project is a collaboration between the Inuk singer-songwriter, the electronic music producer, and visual artist Caroline Monnet, who were all commissioned to create a unique work for the 60th anniversary of the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art. These remixes bring together Elisapie's moving and powerful voice with Hologramme's atmospheric and elegantly crafted arrangements. As the music unfolds, they break down the boundaries between tranquillity and excitement to reflect the geometric patterns that characterize Caroline Monnet's body of work.

Working with Elisapie was an incredible, collaborative experience, says Hologramme. We exchanged ideas throughout the process, and the channels were completely open to experimentation, allowing all ideas to be explored.

First presented during a performance at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) in Montreal, these remixed versions of Sinnatuumait (Dreams), Uummati Attanarsimat (Heart of Glass), and Qimatsilunga (I Want to Break Free) immerse us in an introspective, danceable realm where frontiers are blurred and emotions are raw.

This September, Elisapie will be performing in Quebec City, Fredericton and Moncton. The Inuktitut tour will then continue throughout Ontario in November, culminating in a show at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall (November 30th). Visit elisapie.com or see the list below for all dates.
