Paul Jacobs unveils the single After Dark ahead of his upcoming tour

Close to a year after the release of his much celebrated album Pink Dogs on the Green Grass, Paul Jacobs returns with a new single titled After Dark, In addition to unveiling this new track, Jacobs and his band are set to embark on a tour in Canada and the US in May 2022.

On After Dark, Paul Jacobs uncovers his more mysterious side in the form of a nocturnal journey that turns into a personal quest. My interpretation of the song is that it's about distracting yourself from your responsibilities by inventing problems and obstacles in your life, says the singer and multi-instrumentalist. With an eerie atmosphere and an ethereal synth intro, the song is carried by a velvety mid-tempo rhythm, through which the Montreal-based artist stays true to himself by gradually introducing his very own modern psychedelic touch. This new single is accompanied by a monochrome, pattern-infused art track created by Paul Jacobs himself.

After playing several showcases last March at SXSW, as well as performing at New York's The New Colossus festival, Paul Jacobs and his band will kick off their tour on May 12th at the Dominion Tavern in Ottawa. The tour includes shows in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary Winnipeg and Minneapolis to name a few. The interdisciplinary artist will also perform in Saguenay this summer for the upcoming edition of the festival La Noce. Check out the list below for all tour dates.

In the Spring of 2021, Paul Jacobs released the critically acclaimed Pink Dogs on the Green Grass, a collection of 13 deeply intimate tracks blendings folk, pop, psych, and rock sounds. The album was also praised by various radio stations, peaking at #2 on the earshot! Top 50 chart and landing at #4 on the Canadian NACC chart.
