Voz de mi vida is a sort of tribute to Luan Larobina’s father, to whom the singer-songwriter expresses her gratitude for passing on to her the power of music. A musician himself, he used it to build a connection with his new community upon his arrival from Mexico, just as Luan uses it today to share her inner world with us. Mixing Latin traditions with contemporary Québécois folk, Voz de mi vida is a perfect example of Luan Larobina’s use of music for strengthening her connection to her mixed identity.
