Jonathan Personne unveils new single Rêve américain and announces upcoming album Répertoire

A little over a year after the release of Nouveau monde, an album that won over Libération (France), Exclaim!, and many others, Jonathan Personne is back with the song Rêve américain. The artist, who is also known as the singer and guitarist for the band Corridor, announces details of Répertoire, his fifth solo effort. Available for pre-order now, the album will be released on August 28th, 2026, via Bonsound.

A spellbinding bass line kicks off Rêve américain, the opening track of Répertoire, and immediately sets the tone for Personne’s upcoming album. Gone are the indie folk-rock influences of his early days. Instead, the singer-songwriter delivers dreamy, trippy indie pop full of intricate, undulating rhythms. He explores the exhilarating highs and disheartening lows of being a professional musician, and makes it a recurring theme in this new collection of songs. Rêve américain explores the feeling of disillusionment over an idealized notion of success, referencing specifically to his latest tour across Trump's United States: “First class / in the last place / I’d want to be”, he sings in French.
