Flourish - Single

Shaina Hayes’ single Flourish is a spring anthem for lovers. Breathy, blooming and tender, the track centers around Shaina’s sultry vocals and mellow guitar strumming. The lyrics paint a flowery story of desire and affection, aiming to leave you punch drunk on pollen and sunshine.

The idea for Flourish came from John O’Donohue’s Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom. Within a section on intimacy, O’Donohue states how much he loves the word flourish as it pertains to a person. He spends the better part of a page expressing the beauty of this term: blooming to become the fullest, most dazzling version of yourself. And what could be more romantic than to wish this for the folks you love - that they get the chance to become their absolute best self? Tickled by this, Shaina decided to use the word to seed this springtime love song. The track was produced by Shaina’s tried-and-true musical collaborators, Francis Ledoux (on drums) and David Marchand (on guitar, bass, pedal steel and vocals).
