As a musician, Magi Merlin finds great inspiration in IDLES’ music, visuals and live shows. She admires the way the band can deliver a brutal song like POP POP POP, her favourite from their album TANGK, in such a soft way. For her own version, she and longtime collaborator and producer Funkywhat flipped the song into a UK garage banger, taking a more melodic approach compared to the original by loading the track with vocal harmonies.
