Les Breastfeeders are back with the rock n’ roll earworm Les pieds chez toi

Five years after the release of their last song, Les Breastfeeders return in full force with the rock n' roll earworm Les pieds chez toi, out today via Bonsound. The band is celebrating 25 years of playing together, and will perform multiple shows this year, including at Les Foufounes Électriques on June 22nd, as part of the Francos de Montréal, and at Le Festif de Baie-Saint-Paul on July 19th.

Angular rhythms, catchy guitar patterns and double entendre, contrasting poetry abound on Les pieds chez toi. Recorded alongside Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, Nobro, Les Shirley) and mixed by Mark Lawson (Peter Gabriel, Zoon, Basia Bulat), this new song from the spirited Montreal band brilliantly reinforces their rock n'roll, garage and psychedelic influences, with the help of a 12-string guitar, cavernous organ counterpoints and deep-rooted, saturated backing vocals.

Les Breastfeeders' new song comes with a music video directed by Philippe Beauséjour, who uses paper cut-outs to animate the story. I got my inspiration from Scooby-Doo chase scenes, The Archie Show intro and the engine room from Star Trek, he explains. The video features the band members trapped in a house filled with liquor bottles, as a giant hand prevents their escape. Luc, the protagonist, sets out on a mission to save his friends, but will he succumb to his thirst instead?

May 4th marked the 20th anniversary of Déjeuner sur l'herbe, Les Breastfeeders' debut album. Now considered a classic of 21st-century French-language rock n’ roll, the album, which includes hits such as Ça ira and Mini-jupe et watusi, propelled the Montreal-based band's career to cult status in Quebec and beyond. Déjeuner sur l'herbe is available on vinyl, CD and all music platforms.
