Mark Clennon signs with Bonsound and unveils the first single off his upcoming EP
It's with great enthusiasm that we've announced the signature of future soul artist Mark Clennon to our record label. The Toronto-based musician unveiled Part of Your World, the first single off his sophomore EP to be released in September. To write this very personal song, Clennon drew inspiration from a period in his life when he felt like an outsider. The lyrics address interracial relationships and the challenges of fitting into a culture that is foreign to you, into a space that is a little inhospitable.
Watch and share the music video for Part of Your World via YouTube.
The single is available on all music services.
Inspired by Pop Up Video, a cult TV show from the late ‘90s, the music video was produced and co-directed by the artist, which he considers to be a huge accomplishment. With much determination and after months of hard work, Clennon travelled to Jamaica to shoot the video on the tiny island of Maiden Cay. I chose to shoot on the Cay as a symbolism of the isolation I felt in that time in my life when I wrote this song, he explains.
PASSION, Mark Clennon's upcoming EP is due out on September 6, 2019. It follows the release of When The Smoke Clears (2016).
