Pierre Kwenders unveils a music video for Woods of Solitude off his upcoming album
Premiering today on The FADER, Pierre Kwenders delivers a new music video for Woods of Solitude, the first single off his upcoming album to be released in September via Bonsound. This is the follow-up to his acclaimed effort Le Dernier Empereur Bantou (2014).
Woods of Solitude is available now on all digital platforms.
Directed by duo Epher Heilland (who also directed Pierre Kwenders’ video for Mardi gras) the video was shot around Seattle and in the rain forest. The first time I met up with Tendai “Baba” Maraire, ‘Woods of Solitude’ was the first song we worked on together, the singer-songwriter explains. The black and white images create a cinematic aesthetic. The guitars and synths lend a unique sound to the song.
Pierre Kwenders recently opened for Arcade Fire during the Kanaval KANPE event at the Montreal Metropolis. The artist is heading off to Europe this spring for a string of dates with Mozart's Sister on the POP Off tour presented by POP Montreal.
